Chapter Excellence Awards

The Ohio Chapter Excellence Award Program has completed its sixth year! A total of 74 chapters submitted reports, and 71 were recognized with "Chapter Excellence" or "Outstanding Chapter" awards at the 2018 Grand Chapter session at Kalahari in September. We were excited to find that the 2018 submissions included six chapters that have never participated before and, for the first time, we had participation from at least one chapter in all 28 districts in Ohio.

Click HERE to see the complete list of participating chapters in 2017-2018, and the awards presented at Grand Chapter.

The awards part of the program will conclude with the 2020 Grand Chapter session.  We encourage all chapters to continue to participate during the ensuing two years, and to continue to use the guidelines as a planning tool in the future. The guidelines will continue to be posted on the Grand Chapter web site, along with the lists of ideas generated by participating chapters.

Participating chapters are asked to pursue excellence in four main areas:

A. Charity and Service;
B. Social Activities and Fellowship;
C. Ritual Quality and Officer Excellence; and
D. Membership and Public Relations.

To earn the award, chapters must successfully complete at least three activities in each of the four program areas. The time span for this year's Chapter Excellence program is June 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019

Click HERE to read and download the 2018-2019 guidelines and application form.  Paper copies of the new guidelines and step-by-step instructions, as well as portfolios for submitting your report, will be distributed to each chapter by the Deputy Grand Matrons. A number of changes have been made in the recommended activities for this seventh year.  Specific instructions for the documentation needed for each activity also is included.

The deadline for submitting applications is June 15, 2019.  Applications should be given to the Deputy Grand Matron assigned to your chapter.

Ideas From Ohio Chapters

Through the Chapter Excellence Awards program, participating chapters have reported many successful programs, and we are happy to share some of them with you. Feel free to read the idea lists of the past four years and to adapt some of these programs in your own chapter.  (Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.)

The Grand Line Officers and Membership and Public Relations Committee marvel at the creative programs we read about in the Chapter Excellence Reports. We hope these lists will inspire you to find new ways to make your chapter EXCELLENT!
