We Passed Inspection!

Congratulations to our officers on their very successful inspection. We are so proud of our new members -- Rainbow Grand Worthy Advisor Annie Strawn and George Kirsch, a member of New England Lodge.

A number of distinguished OES members from around the state came to witness the initiation, including Worthy Grand Matron Gail Walsh, Associate Grand Matron Sue Simpson, Grand Conductress Evelyn Hardesty, Past Grand Matron Marilyn Rowley and Past Grand Patrons Bruce Ailes and our own Kenneth Scott. It was a stellar event!

The Sideliner of the Month Is....

How dull a meeting can be without Sideliners! Our Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron are making a special effort to recognize the members who come to support our chapter officers, contribute to the business meeting and enjoy the company of the nicest people you could hope to meet. Recent winners of the Sideliner of the Month include Mary Jo Jones, who was chosen in March, and visitor Linda Ayers, of Triangle Chapter, at our April (Inspection) meeting.

Another Run for the Gold

Our officers and members are working hard to qualify for another "Chapter Excellence Award" for Worthington Chapter. Last fall, Worthington was one of 62 chapters recognized at the 2013 Grand Chapter session for chapter excellence, and one of only 20 who were selected for the gold "Outstanding Chapter" designation. Our own Marilyn Braatz played a lead role in developing the Chapter Excellence Awards program to promote:

* Ritual Quality and Officer Excellence

* Membership and Public Relations

* Charity and Service; and

* Social Activities and Fellowship.

Chapters completing a minimum of three activities in each of the four program areas received a walnut sounding block for the chapter’s podium, with an silver-tone plate engraved “2013 Chapter Excellence Award.” Chapters exhibiting extraordinary excellence received sounding blocks with a gold-tone award plate engraved “2013 Outstanding Chapter.”
Attend our meetings and activities and see what you can do to help us earn another golden designation for our chapter sounding block!
