Here we are back with a new year of activities and events!
The Chapter is also helping the Cory-Rawson High School Business Classes collect "dead dried up" markers. The Students are supporting the Crayola Color Cycle that recycles these markers and changes them into fuel. This is their community service project this year. 600 pounds of markers creates approximately 63 gallons of diesel fuel!
Santa took time out of his busy schedule to visit on December 23rd.
He brought treats for the kiddos. members brought cookies, cocoa, and coffee was guests to enjoy!

Christmas attire, sharing Christmas Memories, playing Christmas Carol Charades, and helping an area mother and her four children
with groceries and gift cards!~
Cory-Rawson High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) meeting. Sister Ruth Ann our secretary and Becky Bucher attended. Our Chapter is supporting this group with food throughout the year for them to enjoy during their early morning meetings … or if they need a pick me up during the day!~
To kick things off, we were in the Bluffton Holiday Parade.

Our Chapter is supporting a local school's group called Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Members have donated paper items, drinks, snacks, and monetary donations to assist teachers who support the group with breakfast before the meetings! The group meets twice a month before school and it is youth lead with a teacher(s) in attendance for support. Some of our members have attended meetings as well. While it says "athletes", any student may attend. Recently, on student accepted Christ in his life!

We are helping an area Rainbow Girls group by supporting their endeavor
to collect bottle caps for Special Olympics!
We started the month by co-hosting with the aid of our Masonic Lodge
a First Responders Appreciation Meal for area firemen and their families!
Busy month! Our first meeting was a Friendship Night and a
Surprise 60th Anniversary Party and Card Shower
for Jerry and Ruth Ann Augustine, our WP and Secretary.
Steve Horton, our Chaplain, was honored for his exemplary work this year
by our DGM Annie Rumor.
Our second meeting was Telling Tales ( do not tell lies from our Veggie Tales Devo book) and we had a Halloween Party as well as our officers party! Our costume winners were Patti Askins and Marilyn Wymer. Our WP Jerry and our Secretary Ruth were honored for their "spook-tacular" work in preparing an excellent meal for the officers as well as other members!~
Our second meeting this month was themed Honesty is the Best Policy and centered on being an honest and kind person.
On our first meeting this month we held a Tailgate Party Sports Night! Members wore their favorite sports team apparel and brought tailgate party foods to share! We had a Football Sports Trivia Competition after the meeting with Rita Follas and Mike Wilson being declared the sports buffs! We are also supporting a local high school with their Fellowship of Christian Athletes which meets twice a month with food, paper items, and attending their meetings when possible as they meet at 7:10 a.m. before school starts! Recently they held a See You at the Pole Prayer Time and two of our members attended in support of their endeavor - Secretary Ruth Ann Augustine and WM and teacher Becky Bucher!
We had a Fish Fry fun night for stars and masons hosted by Lynn and Betty Basinger. Members brought side dishes to complement the fish!
Our second meeting was June 25th and the Veggie Devo was - It Starts in the Heart - Bob and Larry had Hearts around them as well as picnic items as this was also our last meeting before summer break!
We dressed "casual" and had an indoor picnic before the meeting!
We also had some visitors as at the last minute we added a
SURPRISE 50 YEAR PRESENTATION to our secretary Ruth Ann Augustine

Our Veggie Devo for our first meeting this month on June 11th was - The Good Samaritan - help others. Bob and Larry have first aid items to help us remember this! Not just help others with physical wounds but inner "hurts" as well.

Betty Basinger "sparkled" as she was presented her 50 year pin by her husband Lynn. Janet Wheeler (WM Grove Chapter and a Grand Rep), our only friendship guest, was lavished with prizes as well! Finally, refreshments included the American Favorites - pie and ice cream!

Community Easter Egg Hunt
Rawson Chapter and Mount Cory Masonic Lodge hosted a Community Easter Egg Hunt on Palm Sunday, March 25th, at 4:00 p.m. at the Masonic Temple. Our Worth Patron headed up the popular popcorn machine, Worshipful Master provided added entertainment as Tevo the Clown, member furnished cookies, juice, and hot chocolate! A great time was had by all as the pictures depict!
Due to Holy Week, we only have one meeting this month and we had a busy night! We had members enjoy the wearing of the green, a mock initiation and
a St.Paddy's Day Celebration after the meeting with green refreshments,
Best Dressed Awards (Leo Garey and Rita Follas), and members enjoyed
a game of Pictionary based on St. Patrick's Day words while dining!
We discovered that we have some great "artists" in our midst
and that's no "blarney"!
March 8th and 15th our Chapter helped with a blood drive in Memory of Jeff Augustine who passed away on February 21st, 2018. He was a son, brother, and spouse to members of our chapter as well as a member of our chapter. We helped provide breakfast to the students who helped with the blood drive as well as cookies for the people who donated blood. Several of our members served as courtesy assistants, too.

The Melody Makers entertained us after the brief meeting.
February 12th Meeting ... Veggie Tale Devo on The Things We Say!
Extra toothpaste cannot be put back in the tube just like unkind words cannot be taken back! So watch what we say to others!
Celebrated Valentine's day as well with treats for all members!
February 26th Meeting ... The Rule That's Golden. Are you treating others with respect, love, kindness, and courtesy? If you are wondering how to treat someone else, ask the person you see every time that you look in the mirror!
Also, had a verse with my brother's hand imprint .... We had a Memorial Service for him. He passed away on February 21st. He is the son of our WP and Secretary and husband of our Adah as well. He will be greatly missed by many. He was only 57 years old.
Members of Rawson Chapter and Mount Cory Masons celebrated Valentine's Day together with a night out at a local restaurant! Wonderful food and fellowship was enjoyed by all as well a numerous games of Bingo ...
until the markers of Hershey Kisses were consumed!

During refreshments, members enjoyed playing two games - Christmas Songs Word Scramble and a Fill-in-the-Blank Missing Word on Christmas Songs. Various members shared Christmas stories past and present as well.
All participants received a prized for playing the games! No losers!~
Our December Meeting ... Kindness to Others!
Helped an Area Family with Food Items and an organization called Purses with a Purpose - donated gently used purses and hygiene items to fill them - then they are given to area organizations that help women in need.
We also came dressed in holiday attire to be festive!

This month we celebrated the first meeting of the month with Fall Harvest of Corn and Beans and Falling Leaves! Our next meeting was a Halloween Party which included games and sharing stories during refreshments! Members also donned Halloween attire and colors as part of the festivities! Games winners included - Patti Askin, Rita Follas, and AGC Carol Gramm Wise! During the meeting we had two celebrations! Junior Past DGM Sharon Weaver presented Pat Redding with an Excellence Award based on her Electa presentation during Inspection and Linda Shimp had the honor of presenting her friend Charlene Brock with her 50 year pin. What a FUN Night!
This month brought Back to School memories and the harvest of apples Down on the Farm! At the Back to School meeting, refreshments were a "sack lunch" and the Fall Harvest of Apples meeting included "apple pie" for refreshments! Yum! Yum! Rawson Chapter was also presented the "Gold" Chapter Excellence Award at Grand Chapter! Way to Go Rawson Chapter!
We celebrated Sweet Summer Time Down on the Farm during the month of June! Baling Hay! Picnics! Swimming! One of our member's, Emmet Clements, turned 90 and we celebrated with a card shower and cake and ice cream! On a sad note, the death of PGP Richard Wilson happened, one of Becky's (WM) favorite people from when she was Grand Adah in 1997. She remembered him in the East as well as a special moment of memory during the meeting.

Love Is in the Air! Bloodlines! Family Trees!
Our member, Kathy Hines, did a program after the meeting on "genealogy".
She traced our Grand Representative of Oklahoma in Ohio, Ruth Ann Augustine's father's side
of the family and went back 8 generations for her!
For those interested in getting started in researching family bloodlines, she suggested the websites - familysearch.org and findagrave.com - both are free sites to use.
Another member, Rita Follas, brought a pair of mittens made by her Great Great Grandmother!
What a wonderful family heirloom to cherish!
Our first meeting in this month had the theme ... Love is in the Air! Mating Season!
As a program after the meeting, members shared various photos - wedding albums, wedding pictures, baby pictures, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren photos!
Members also played a game - Animals and Their Babies - where they had to list the baby name for the various animals listed. Ex. dog - puppy, bear - cub.
The "winners" were Linda Shimp and Patti Askins!
The each received a bag of flavored nuts because they were "nutty" over babies!

at the Old Barn Outback in Lima for Valentine's Day!
