GGC Membership Conf March 29-31, 2019

Tadmor Shrine

Greetings Sisters and Brothers,

With thanks to the WGM Sister Kelly and the WGP Brother Dennis the GGC Membership Committee has scheduled a weekend conference that will benefit our chapters. The last weekend in March, March 29-31, 2019, was chosen because it is a fifth weekend and will not interfere with regularly scheduled meetings.

We recognize that each Chapter is unique, and every member is indispensable. Each member has talents, passion and experience to bring to the meetings. We need to be thinking teamwork and keep our members engaged. We must commit to winning and make our meetings matter.

The goal of this conference is to help the Chapter leaders to be positive, set goals, stay focused and inspire our members. Since this conference will benefit your chapter, the members of your chapter might want to consider sponsoring one or two members to attend. We are working to keep the cost reasonable.

The conference promises to be educational, inspirational, focused on leadership and, of course, to have some fun.

The motivational speaker is Roger VanGordon a Past Grand Master from Indiana, F.& A.M. and a member of the Masonic Renewal Committee of North America. We also have several of our own members lined up to be speakers. The conference will also feature the Service Dog Committee.

The conference will be at the Tadmor Shrine, 3000 Krebbs Drive, Akron, Ohio 44310 located between Akron and Canton off Interstate 77. Hotels are nearby and information is included. The day will begin with registration at 8:30 am and the conference to begin at 9:30 am. There will be a midmorning break, a lunch break and a midafternoon break. Dinner will be at 6:30 and to top off the evening there will be a “You Ain’t Nothing but a Hound Dog” dance and party featuring Gary Shreve an Elvis enthusiast.

We are asking each district to dress a stuffed dog and enter it into a contest. Individual Chapters may also enter the contest. Information about the contest is on a separate sheet and included with this letter. Donations of baskets for a silent auction will also be appreciated.

Our Most Worthy Grand Matron Sister Marianne Shenefelt is promoting membership with the Rob Morris award and a Mother Hen program. Those informational flyers are also included.

Sunday morning, we will conclude the weekend with an inspirational worship service to send you home with an enthusiastic approach to achieving the goals and plans you have set this weekend.

For those of you coming Friday evening, there is a fish fry at Tadmor Shrine. They usually have shrimp and chicken if you don’t want fish. The food is always excellent.

Looking forward to a great weekend!

With Star Love,

Carol Jones PGM and a GGC Committee Member for Membership
