In the past, we have asked you to donate school supplies or books. This year, I would like you all to join in a game with us. Each month, I will ask you to count the number of objects in your home or something that fits the theme of that month. Then I am asking you to donate that amount of change. By donating this change each month, we can make a change in the lives of so many children who have the privilege of attending our Children’s Dyslexia Centers around Ohio.
Since October is the month when children normally go trick or treating. I am asking you to count the number of trick or treaters you get knocking at your door and donate a nickel for each one. As we are in the middle of a pandemic, some communities may not have trick or treat. In this case, please estimate how many children normally come to your door and donate a nickel for each one. If you live in an area, where you do not get trick or treaters, say on a busy street, you can still participate. I am asking you to donate a dime for every piece of Halloween candy you enjoy in the month of October.
I have given your Deputy a “book” where you can put your donations. Your Chapter Secretary has information from the Grand Secretary about where to send the money.
