Worthy Grand Matron Letter

Can you see it?  Can you smell it?  Can you feel it?  Can you hear it?  Nature has a way of keeping us grounded by her daily whim—changing of the seasons, lavish colors, blooming flowers, singing birds, blowing wind, and blessings of friends.  Can you believe it?  We are more than halfway (hard to believe) through the 2019 “Nature’s Life and Beauty” year.

As the Worthy Grand Patron and I travel throughout our beautiful state visiting chapters for official visitations and inspections, we witness nature’s impulse.  Along the way we had the pleasure of granting twenty-six new Grand Representative appointments:  Victoria Echelbarger D-5, Kay A. Hanna-Gaffney D-27, Brenda Gotter D-4, Dorothy Murphy D-2, Joyce Lather D-5, Sharon Basil D-26, Pam Blankenhorn D-10, Linda Schuenaman D-23, Barb Akers D-5, Marcella Phillips D-12, Nancy Sabo D-1, Celia Lawson D-4, Jenny Jamieson D-9, Joyce Larimore D-8, Pam Klinger D-18, Jo Kennedy D-18, Gail Miller D-3, Amy Young D-4, Amy James D-3, Becky McAlindon D-3, Judy Ward D-19, Barbara Maxwell D-18, Darlene Kassner D-21, Carol Scrivens D-4, Connie Curren D-4, and Martha Shafer D-5.

Our chapters celebrate small and big milestones with amazing zeal!  Celebrations share love of our Order as well as old and new friendships.  Anniversary kudos go to these chapters:  75th—Olivet; 100th–Kingston, Labelle, Ida, Chillicothe; 125th–Crystal, Valley, Findlay, Beallsville, Delphos, and Royal.

But wait!  There’s more!!  Our weekend at the OES Home is exhilarating.    The OES Home Day (in Mt. Vernon) was on June 22 at 1:00.  It is such a rewarding afternoon with the residents who share their lives with us.  Our Charities Extravaganza “A Trip on Noah’s Ark” provided us a wild and crazy escapade in the evening.  Our State Charities Directors, Richard and Barb Metzler encouraged us to wear animal costumes.  You know our members were most creative.

As this 2019 Inspection Season wraps up, it is a blessing that we have had safe travels, visited with our Sisters and Brothers, and have enjoyed every mile we have journeyed throughout this beautiful state of Ohio!  We wish all of our members a safe and healthy summer, and take time to Never pass up an opportunity to enjoy Nature’s beauty~~it’s the handwriting of God.
